After visiting the Lingyin temple, walk from the back door of the temple to the Amanfayun Village: The picturesque Aman Fayun Village is located in the Fayun Nong area, surrounded by natural forest and scenery, a short drive west of Hangzhou. Nearby attractions include the village of Tianzhu, the Lingyin Temple, Flower Pond, West Lake, Hangzhou History Museum, and the Yongfu Temple. Amanfayun is located in a remote and tranquil forest., immerse yourself in an atmosphere of a traditional Chinese village; a true journey through time. Encountering Amanfayun for the first time is like stepping into a Zhang Yimou film (he of Raise the Red Lantern and the Beijing Olympics opening and closing ceremonies fame); your every glance is greeted with a kind of mise en scene; a bright-yellow parasol against the muted stone buildings, a glimpse into an ancient courtyard to someone sweeping away the fallen autumn leaves, a carved inscription in stone framed by lush wet vines. You will feel becoming gently untethered from the concerns of the day.

The last stop is The Song Dynasty Imperial Street: Has been renamed Zhongshanlu Beiduan, but still leads to the Palace of the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127AD). The road that stretches 400 meters (1,310ft) is lined with snack bars that offer local delicacies and shops that sell antiques, embroidered items and silks among others.

It was our second trip to Hangzhou. My husband and I very much enjoyed our trip.Our tour guide Nancy was extremely knowledgeable giving us an excellent insight into Chinese history, geography, politics and popular culture. She really went our of her way to make everyone on the tour happy. Everything from pick at our hotel in Shanghai, round way first class train ride, lunch at a local restaurant and return to the hotel was perfect. Really had a nice time. Overall the experience was really nice!!!
We were really enjoyed our day trip from Shanghai to Hangzhou by the fast train with first class seat seating. Picked up from our hotel in Shanghai to the Shanghai Hongqiao train station.Our Hangzhou local tour guide Bonnie (I do agree with Shanghai Private Tour-Local guide knows more about Hangzhou) met us at the Hangzhou train station and started the tour to the westlake,Lingyun temple, tea village...Bonnie spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the history,culture of Hangzhou and each site we visited. My trip to Hangzhou was the best journey I have had to China and this was down to having employed a local guide by the name of Nancy. Nancy speaks excellent English and knows the area like the back of her hand. Knowledgeable, informative and with an excellent sense of humour. I learnt so much more than I could have hoped for in my short time in Hangzhou by having Nancy on hand to explain it all to me and answering all of my questions. We hired a car to get around and would recommend you do the same as there is so much to see. Make sure you visit Longjing Valley Longjing Green Tea tasting, Lake West and its beautiful park and the Lingyin Buddhist Temple. And thanks to Nancy could help us stay away from the bust crowds!!!

I booked trips at the last minute with Hangzhou Private Tour and found them to be very efficient and easy to deal with. We were lucky to have Nancy as our guide. Our trip began with the bullet train, which whisked us from Shanghai to Hangzhou. First stop was the Temple which was fascinating, then a delicious lunch overlooking a tea plantation. Nancy helped us order and she was spot on with the choices. Next stop was the stunning lake, throughout the tour Nancy not only told us about the history of the sights but also the myths, which made it all the more interesting. Last stop shopping for souvenirs.....delicious green tea.

Our Hangzhou trip with Hangzhou Private Tour was just completed. We had many highlights. Two of them were the Lingyin temple and the Tea plantation & village. They are truly a must see and worth all the effort to get there. Boonie is an excellent tour guide. She is very knowledgeable about Hangzhou and the places we visited. She takes the initiative to contact the participants before the tour to finalize details which is appreciated. She makes the tour interesting by her upbeat personality. We totally enjoyed the tour and it was paced out well. We would highly recommend her and would take another tour with her again if the opportunity arises.
We went on this hangzhou day tour with a lot of expectations and they were very well complied. We wanted to start the tour early due to the Mid-Autumn Holiday in China. But our guide Bonnie said we dont have to. She will handle it. And it was true. Bonniespeaks very well English and has a lot of in depth knowledge. She did not only knew here way very well through the area but also knew exactly how we could enjoy and see everything without being bothered by the large amount of people.
