Hangzhou West lake

Hangzhou has been voted as one of the 50 most popular destinations for travelers in 2016 by leading US travel magazine Travel+Leisure.

Other most popular destinations include Guadalajara of Mexico, Richmond of California, and Lille of France.

Hangzhou attracted artists, poets, merchants and explorers for over a thousand years with its West Lake scenery. It is now famous for manufacturing and high-tech industries, the magazine said.

Hangzhou also won votes as the host city of the G20 summit in September 2016, according to the citys tourism commission.
